![]() Spoiler alert: The following section contains story related material. An example of this is finding a Stalker egg in the Jellyshroom Cave.Įggs can be used as fuel for the Bioreactor, though they provide far less energy than a hatched creature. They are destroyed by a Prawn Suit with a punch, or using a Propulsion or Repulsion Cannon on it, meaning they cannot be picked up with a Prawn Suit or moved around with tools, only by hand.Įggs can be found in their species' biomes, but gravity can cause an egg to roll or fall into another biome or cave. Crashfish explosions can destroy their own eggs and habitat if they are too close. Hits with a knife will slice open the egg, resulting in no creature being spawned. The exceptions are the Ampeel, as its electric shocks still apply damage, and the Crabsquid.Įggs can be destroyed. Most normally aggressive creatures will not attack the player if hatched in the Alien Containment, allowing the player to scan it even after it is released in the wild. They can die inside of the aquarium, however, if the aquarium's population limit is surpassed.īaby creatures can be picked up and placed outside in the water, where they will instantly become fully grown. The Ghost Leviathan Egg: These are the ones youll be able to see in the Giant Cove Tree at the Lost River. The hatched creature will slowly grow until it is moderately-sized or can fit within the confines of the Alien Containment. After one to three in-game days, the egg will hatch into a smaller version of its respective species. After placing an egg inside an Alien Containment, it will stay where it was placed. After learning this information this way in-game, or from the table below, similar eggs can be identified by the biome it comes from, its appearance, and size.Īlmost all eggs can be placed inside an Alien Containment. ![]() The PDA gives the player this information instantly no matter where they are, without needing to be present to observe which creature came from which egg. Until they hatch, an egg is labeled as an unknown creature egg, changing to match the name of the creature the egg contained if it hatches inside an Alien Containment. They are the unhatched versions of their respective Fauna. It's a pretty extreme transition too, if you're getting into the LR from the Blood Kelp Zones.Eggs are items found in Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. In the LR and DGR though, it gets drowned out in the bright global lighting down there. At night, the bioluminescence of the life there is so much more apparent. ![]() And the Safe Shallows is especially pretty at both times of day. I mean, look at the Grand Reef - it's darkish, and at night very dark, but then you can see the glowing of the plantlife so much more. And with the Aurora entrance being considered for removal too, where do these dragons get their reapers from then?īack on topic though I'd love to see these two darkened up somewhat so the glowing traits of the life down there have a chance to shine (no pun intended) but not dark enough that ithe rest of the detail is completely lost on you either. Part of me hoped that he'd show up in or around the Dunes ILZ entrance because of their hunting reapers, but then the entrance got removed. The biolumenescence is almost entirely wasted on him. But he only shows up in a fairly bright zone, and a very very bright zone. Speaking of which, the Sea Dragon has some gorgeous light displays when in the darkness. There's too much global lighting in those two areas, that the bioluminescence of the life down there is largely wasted. Here you can harvest Limestone Outcrop, Sandstone Outcrop and Shale Outcrop. I'd like to see a bit more of a balance really. Even if they're pretty limited unfortunately. I guess the light stick and Floodlight too. If you need more light, your subs or flashlight are there to help. It's dark enough to be fitting of an abyssal biome, but its enough to navigate and appreciate the area. Most of the Blood Kelp Trench's light comes from the glow put off by the flora. I'd like to see the Deep Grand Reef and Lost River be darker.
